March 2010 - Overwhelming Response Received at Oceanology

Oceanology Internaional 2010 Coastline Surveys Ltd enjoyed an extremely successful exhibition at Oceanology International 9th-11th March 2010. The exhibition, held in London’s Excel, was the ideal platform for Coastline Surveys to showcase our new concept mini CPT the C-Pen20, as well as a comprehensive range of survey equipment. This included our newly acquired GeoAcoustics GeoSWATH PLUS interferometric bathymetry system offering simultaneous swath bathymetry and side scan seabed mapping with accuracies exceeding the IHO Standards for Hydrographic Surveys. This was complimented by the attendance of our 24m Survey Vessel MV FlatHolm. The Coastline Team were delighted by the overwhelming levels of interest and support received from visitors to the stand.

An agreement was reached and a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Coastline Surveys and 7 Seas Geosciences SA of Cape Town, South Africa, for knowledge transfer, geotechnical product development and regional project assistance. This will expand our presence globally and will provide us with a partner for service development and provision in markets beyond those normally accessible to Coastline Surveys.

Company growth in 2009, combined with the acquisition of the geotechnical department based in Lowestoft, has enabled Coastline to provide a comprehensive, fully in-house, marine survey service that includes geophysical, geotechnical, hydrographic and environmental capabilities. This bespoke operation has evolved from nearly twenty years experience that Coastline has gained, predominantly in bathymetric and geophysical surveying, providing the bedrock and understanding of the importance of accurate data acquisition and quality report writing.

Finally our congratulations go to Paul Parker of Severn Estuary Partnership, who won the Bottle of Single Malt Whisky from our draw.
