April 2010 - Coastline Surveys Operate on the Norwegian Continental Shelf
Coastline Surveys Limited, have recently completed the first offshore geotechnical project for specialist marine contractor DeepOcean AS. The geotechnical survey provided design information for a 27km pipeline in the Oselvar Field under development by Technip for Dong E&P Norge AS. The Oselvar Field is located on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in 75m water depth, 250km off the Norwegian coast.
To meet project objectives Coastline Surveys completed a substantial programme of piezocone penetrometer tests (PCPT’s) and Vibrocores along the route from DeepOcean’s specialised ROV/survey vessel Edda Freya, to depths into the seabed of over 3m. On completion of the field work the samples and data were shipped to Coastline’s dedicated facility in Suffolk, UK for processing.
